What does emotional wellness even mean?Emotional wellness is the ability to successfully handle life’s stresses and adapt to change and difficult times. And heaven knows, we have had our share of collective stresses lately not to mention personal stressors.
Mental health is one of today’s major health challenges, as approximately one in five individuals suffers from a mental health episode each year. So it behooves all of us to take this month and focus on mental well-being.
One powerful way to amp up your mental wellness is to add play into your life. As adults and in our busy lives, we often forget to PLAY. So starting today, what are a few ways to add playfulness back into your life? Channel that inner child within and start playing.

Spend Time with Friends & Family
Time with community is priceless and important
Isolation can be dangerous. We are community beings
Deeply nourish your soul with time spent with others
Choose to share your energy and time with the people that love and celebrate you
Increase Your Self-Care
Make self-care mandatory for your best YOU. Self-care is NOT selfish
Spend at least 5 minutes per day caring for YOU
Give from a full cup rather than from exhaustion when you take care of YOU

Grab a journal and write out the areas you are kicking ass in and also the areas you would like to improve in (Note: do this exercise with love and curiosity for yourself rather than guilt/shame)
